Burgess Book Club for Children

Ages 6 to 12 years

Welcome to the Burgess Book Club for Children.  We are happy to have you join us for this exciting yearlong adventure.  During 2011 we will be meeting in the new education building the last Friday of every month from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.  Refreshments will be provided.  To help with the refreshment cost we are asking for $2 per month to cover the cost.  There is no other cost for this program.  We will examine the natural history content of each book through hands-on explorations of live animals and animal artifacts.  We will be venturing out along the Briar Patch and Smiling Pool especially when the weather becomes warmer.  The staff leading the discussion each month will be Mary Beers, Director of Education.

Below is the book list for each month.  Dover paperback books are available for purchase in the Green Briar Shop or members may borrow from the Robert Swain Library at Green Briar.  If you have difficulty locating a book please let Mary know as soon as possible into the month.

January  -  Old Granny Fox

February -  Buster Bear's Twins
