CRITTER CAPERS at GREEN BRIAR

Drop in for a half-hour visit with a naturalist and one of the resident animals. Learn about life cycles, habits and habitats. Suitable for families with children ages 2 ½ and up. Advance registration is not required.

BURGESS STORY TIMES at GREEN BRIAR  NATURE  CENTER  (April, May, June & Sept.) - During the spring, fall and winter months, Burgess Story Times are held inside at the nature center. Meet one of the animals featured in the day’s story. Suitable for families with children ages 3 and up. Advance registration is not required.

Members: Free     Non-members: $2 per person

OUTDOOR ANIMAL STORY TIMES at the BURGESS MUSEUM (June 29 - Sept. 4)
Join the naturalist for a lively tale of Peter Rabbit and friends on the grounds of the Thornton W. Burgess Museum in Sandwich Village. Meet one of the animals featured in the day’s story. Suitable for families with children ages 3 and up. Advance registration is not required.

TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS, SATURDAYS at 10:30am
Members: Free
               Non-members: $2 per person

Our summer Story Times at the Burgess Museum are sponsored by a business donation from Aubuchon Hardware, Rt. 6A, Sandwich.

ON-GOING WEEKLY PROGRAMS

SMILING POOL CATAMARAN ADVENTURE - Parents can join their children in our canoe-catamaran out on the pond at Green Briar. A staff naturalist will steer you past the banks in search of turtles and frogs. All canoe-related equipment and nets provided. Suitable for children ages 3 and up with an adult. Duration is about 45 minutes. Call to register each week.

Mondays, JUNE 28 - AUGUST 30       Choose 1:30, 2:30 or 3:30pm

Members: $7 adult, $5 child Non-members: $8 adult, $6 child
(Capacity for each trip is up to 4 adults and up to 6 children.)


NIFTY NIGHT CREATURES BY THE LIGHT OF THE FULL MOON - Come along on a naturalist-led explore of the woods, fields and marsh at the Society-managed East Sandwich Game Farm. Each month finds new critters to discover. Suitable for children aged 4 and up with an adult. Wearing long sleeves and long pants is highly recommended. Drive through the gate and meet naturalist at bottom of the hill. Advance registration is required.

Members: $5 adult, $3 child
     Non-members: $6 adult, $4 child (per session)

HAPPY JACK SQUIRREL’S PUPPET SHOW – Who stole Happy Jack Squirrel’s nuts? Old Mother West Wind knows who. Come along for the fun and you’ll discover who, too. Call to register.

HAVE A SPECIAL BIRTHDAY PARTY at Green Briar

Have a fun and educational birthday party at Green Briar. Choose from live animals, fairy houses, jam or candy making, canoeing, "arty" party, and more! We provide a one to two hour program with a naturalist with an additional hour allowed for "party" time. You provide all the party-related food and items. Fees vary with the program selected and are based on 10 participants. Additional fees are charged for additional participants. Parties are scheduled through the Education Department by calling 508-888-6870.
